Privacy Notice

Last updated: May 2026

This notice explains what data is - and is not - collected when you visit heyidentity.dev or use the HeyIdentity software.

1. The heyidentity.dev website

What we collect

We do not collect any personal data through this website. There are no contact forms, no user accounts, no analytics scripts, and no tracking pixels.

Cookies

This website does not set any cookies.

Hosting and access logs

heyidentity.dev is hosted as a static website. The hosting provider may collect standard web server access logs (IP address, timestamp, path requested, user-agent string) as part of normal infrastructure operation. We do not have direct access to or control over these logs. Please refer to your hosting provider's privacy policy for details.

Third-party content

This website does not load third-party analytics, ad pixels, or tracking scripts. It links to GitHub (github.com) for project resources. No data is sent to GitHub unless you actively click a link.

2. The HeyIdentity software

HeyIdentity is intended for development and testing environments. In normal operation, data handling is local to your own environment:

  • All data — users, tokens, keys — remains entirely on your local machine or private network.
  • HeyIdentity does not make any outbound network requests to the internet.
  • HeyIdentity does not send telemetry, analytics, or crash reports anywhere.
  • Any user data you define in your config file (names, email addresses, custom claims) is entirely under your control and never leaves your environment.

If you deploy HeyIdentity in shared, hosted, or internet-facing environments, you are solely responsible for all personal data processing, security controls, retention policies, legal notices, and regulatory compliance in that deployment.

heyidentity.dev does not receive or store identity data generated by your running instances unless you explicitly provide information to us through separate support or commercial channels.

Do not put real user data (genuine email addresses, PII, production credentials) in your HeyIdentity configuration unless you have completed your own legal and security review. Synthetic test data is strongly recommended.

3. Your rights

Since we collect no personal data through this website, there is no personal data for us to provide, correct, or delete. If you have questions, please open an issue on GitHub .

4. Changes to this notice

If this notice changes, the “last updated” date at the top of the page will be updated. Material changes will also be noted in the GitHub releases .
